============================================================================= Title : Phase II: Iron Fist Date : 22th February 1998 Filename : phase_2.bsp Author : Static Email Address : h.langridge@dial.pipex.com Home Page : http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/town/road/acg53 Description : Half Life - The Phase Project 76 Years after the death of Gordon Freeman, the Phase Project reached it's inception. 4 miles beneath the desert, inside the bowels of the Black Mesa Complex, an old missile storage bunker reached the end of its active life and was decommissioned by the board. The immense and dark chamber became the initial testing ground for the Phase Project. Using the "Psorque Repressurisation" techniques developed and perfected the previous decade, human habitation deep within the Earth's crust became just as commonplace as space travel. The volunteers came forward. Life deep within the crust looked far more attractive than being drafted for the Braidan War. The prospect of a new existence added hope to their lives. A chance to live for a purpose, rather than die horribly in a Braidanese Spike Pen. The Phase Project consisted of several parts, each called a Phase, and each designed to examine and report on the behavioural characteristics of the beings it analysed. The aim of the project was to create a harmonic multi-racial society by balancing the results of one being against those of another. The test subjects would be analysed using Haske Newts. These microscopic spores were able to record environmental fluctuations, and could penetrate the skin of the subject for closer examination of internal organs and neural frameworks. Then, using a sub-level infra-radio sequence, they were able to transmit results back to the nearest Organoputer for processing within the global database. The subjects never knew the Haske Newts were there, even though it took 17 million Haske Newts to analyse a single blood cell. Phase I sought to analyse the effects of Vertigo on the subjects. The initial tests proved unsatifactory, and the experiment was wound down to make way for the second phase, though some hardcore scientists still use the facility for further testing. Phase II seeks to analyse the subjects from a government/anarchy point of view. An old laboratory has been turned into an analysis zone consisting of a "heirachy tower". The red coloured "throne room" houses the weapons which the self-elected "King" could use to dominate the zone, and preside over his subjects. The aim of Phase II is to examine how self-elected subjects could "govern" their subjects. ============================================================================= * Play Information * Single Player : No (one start) Deathmatch : Yes, 4 or more players would be ideal.
